FLIGHT CREW T&T TEAM
Our Flight Crew athletes compete with other athletes at USAG
sanctioned competitions at our facility and throughout our region.
Athletes learn skills based on progression and teachings distributed
by USAG, our sports governing body. Athletes achieving top scores
will go on to our National Competition and can compete with the
National Teams to achieve Olympic Dreams in 2008.

Usually athletes compete on three different events during competition: the trampoline,
the double mini trampoline and the rod tumbling floor. We encourage each young child
to participate in all three events to develop a strong, well balanced athlete. As your child
develops more difficult skills, position and space awareness, she may decide only to
compete on one or two events. Maybe she really does not wish to tumble, or has a
disability which prevents it. She would be permitted to just practice and compete the
two trampoline events. This happens mostly when high level athletes decide to devote
more time training just one event.
This is different from artistic gymnastics where athletes must compete on all events to
receive an all-around score. You are not allowed just to practice what you really enjoy
and progress on just that one event.  Also, in the sport of Trampoline & Tumbling
athletes are allowed to progress on to the next level per event independently. For
example, an athlete can be a level 3 on trampoline, a level 6 on double mini and a level
7 in tumbling. This allows athletes to progress quickly on the events where they show
extreme talent. In artistic gymnastics, an athlete must remain at the same level until a
top score has been achieved on each event. This sometimes discourages athletes
from pursuing a continued gymnastics career because they may feel that one or two
events will always hold them back from achieving a mobility score. The benefits of
being able to move up on events independently proves to promote each athlete to
consistently set new skill goals and remain interested in learning new skills.
