Practice Format
Athletes practice together based on
skill ability or "level". Each practice will
consist of skill training on each
apparatus, and flexibility and strength
training exercises. Each athlete will be
required to work independently and
stay on task during circuit training
exercises. We teach based on
progression ensuring that athletes
have a detailed understanding of skill
performance, body awareness and
control. Power is very important in
tumbling passes at the intermediate
levels and passes begin from a power
hurdle. Lower and middle body
conditioning is a constant focus during
training.
Practice Attire
Male athletes must wear shorts that do
not extend below the knee and tank
style shirts in order to effectively move
the upper and lower body.
Female athletes wear leotards and
shorts are okay, but may be asked to
be removed during routine
performance at practices.
Trampoline athletes will need tramp
shoes or ankle socks to protect the
feet while jumping.
Long hair must be pulled back and no
jewelry is to be worn on equipment.
Flight Crew Teams
Pre-Flight Team - meets one day per week
for 90 minutes. We designed this team to
allow athletes that wish to compete and
those that are unsure the chance to practice
routines, all while enforcing fitness and fun.
Young beginner athletes can get a feel for the
sport and gain knowledge of trampoline and
tumbling skills. This level is for 4 to 6 year
olds, who practice skills from Levels 1
through Level 4.
Jr. Flight Crew Team-meets two days per
week for 2.5 hours each week. We designed
this team to begin to teach athletes strength
and power tumbling moves, such as the
roundoff backhandspring and somersault
skills on the trampoline apparatus. From
learning to bounce with a tight body, to
completing a backdrop pullover, this class
will enforce basic skills, positions and
strength needed to advance onto our Sr.
Team. Athletes at this level are practicing
Levels 4 - 6 and are 6 to 12 years old.
Sr. Youth Flight Crew Team-meets two
or three days per week depending on the
number of events on which they practice and
the season. Each training session is three
hours long. Athletes at this level are
dedicated and have long term commitments
to this sport and their learning. Athletes 8
years and older practicing Level 5 through 7
skills will be placed at this level.
Sr. Optional Flight Crew Team-meets
four days per week for three or four hours
each practice for a total of twelve to fourteen
hours.
Athletes at this level are working levels 8
through Elite.
Making the Team
We have honored an open door policy
in the past allowing any athlete wishing
to participate the opportunity. We still
wish to give everyone the option of
competition, but wish to ensure that
their mindset and skill ability is
evaluated prior to joining the teams.
Any athlete wishing to compete will be
invited to begin practicing in a tumbling
class or join our Pre-Team to learn
T&T skills. Each May we will hold a
try-out or skills testing session to
evaluate all new and veteran athletes
to see which team they will be placed
on to prepare for competition.

Also, athlete evaluations are
performed between
July and
December
for any new athletes
wishing to join our Pre, Jr., or Sr.
Teams. Upon evaluation, qualified
athletes will be allowed to begin
practicing with their team immediately
or placed on our Prep Team until
further ready. Athletes joining between
those months of July and December,
must be ready and willing to compete
with us during the season beginning in
January and continuing through June
or July.
